Samba Wales Bonner 'Wonder Clay Royal Blue'

The Samba hype is still alive and well, thanks in large part to highly-coveted Wales Bonner collaborations. The London-based designer ushers in more styles of the iconic terrace trainer, perfectly coinciding with the eponymous fashion label’s 10th anniversary. Dropping alongside the “Wonder Clay Royal Blue” counterpart, this Wales Bonner Samba “White Blue” iteration delivers an exceptional design overhaul, outfitted in premium materials with intricate details.

This special-edition colourway flaunts a clean clay leather upper, shored up by a nappy suede on the T-toe and eyestay panels. Dousing the silhouette with Bonner's usual premium touch is the set of blue faux croc skin 3-Stripes across the sidewall, a detail we've seldom seen since the "Alligator Records" edition of the Superstar back in 2008. Elsewhere, lighter swathes of blue felt make up the inner lining, giving you a quality on-foot feel. A “Wales Bonner” imprint adorns the sides, replacing the usual “Samba” label. The tongue and heel tab feature blacked-out stitching, paying homage to the designer’s Afro-Atlantic heritage. The two-tone flat lace is very fitting within today's current trend cycle, a motif that Bonner has been pushing with her own in-house footwear. Sleek and timeless, the gum rubber sole anchors the elegant upper in a familiar 3-Stripes feel, tying it to the already-impressive library of Samba x Wales Bonner favourites.
